In Peru, the second wave continues: at the beginning of this week, 14,228 people were hospitalized and 2,660 of them are on ventilator support. Across Perú, there are 1,600 intensive care beds for approximately 32 million residents.

In our province of Andahuaylas alone, 36 patients are dependent on oxygen ventilation. At the moment, however, there is no possibility of producing oxygen in Andahuaylas, so the necessary assistance cannot be provided. In addition, the regional mayor in Lima has claimed that there is enough oxygen in Andahuaylas. This also makes it difficult to get help from Lima as the capital.
