Help for women in Peru

vida liberada

The vida liberada (in English: "liberated life") area is committed to fighting sexual abuse and domestic violence. It is aimed at women and children and offers them help and a place of refuge.
An important part of vida liberada is our program for female students "Mujeres de Oro" (roughly translated as "Women of Gold").
Since March 2021, this sub-project has been providing safe housing and support in various life matters for young women during their vocational training. Accompanied by four staff members, they meet three times a week for different group sessions. These include a communal dinner to discuss the past week, time for handicrafts that can later be sold as a source of income. Also, there are meetings for various life skills classes, as well as sports alternating with a small group and spiritual input.
This creates a space and an opportunity for the young women to grow in faith, in their interactions with each other, in lifestyle and self-confidence.
Thus, at the end of their studies, they have much more than just a professional qualification, namely the opportunity to go into a hopeful future, self-determined and capable of community.

Sexual violence against women
Sexual violence against women in Peru is a major problem. Women in Peru fight not only for their rights, but also for their existence.

Lack of educational opportunities, rights, and violence are problems that Quechua women face. It is difficult for them to fight for their position in society.
